Free Pet Food Available for Pets of Veterans Palmetto, FL–Sat The National PTSD Service Association and VFW 2488 of Palmetto invite veterans to a barbecue on Saturday, May 8th , from 9am - Noon at the VFW on 810 6th Street West in Palmetto, FL.
Pets make this a family-friendly event. There will be barbecue for the humans to enjoy and FREE pet food for veterans to take home for their pets.
The National PTSD Service Association serves families and veterans throughout southwest Florida, empowering them to return to life with confidence and independence. They understand the dire need to provide pet food assistance for families that are also trying to put food on the family table.
"Our organization provides highly skilled service dogs to qualified military veterans and first responders with PTSD,” says Sandra LaFlamme, Founder and President of the National PTSD Service Association. “It only makes sense that we also support our veterans by making sure they can feed their pets."

VFW Post 2488 serves Veterans of Foreign Wars in Palmetto since 1962. The Armory has a history of supporting the community. At one-point farmers would bring crops to their kitchen. Volunteers would can them and share with the community (govserv.org). VFW 2488 is the oldest VFW in Manatee County
